About Georgian American University

Georgian American University was founded in 2001 under the visionary leadership of Elene Jamarjashvili and American educator Dr. Michael Cowgill, with the mission of creating the first post-Soviet Georgian university combining American liberal arts education with European-standard professional programs. Originally conceived as a School of Law, GAU expanded rapidly and officially opened its Business and Law Schools in 2005. The undergraduate MD (MBBS equivalent) program was launched in the 2016/2017 academic year.

Today, GAU is fully accredited by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and recognised by the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement (NCEQE).
