Frequently Asked Questions — MBBS Abroad 2026-27

Real answers to the questions Indian students ask most about MBBS abroad.

Is NEET compulsory for MBBS abroad in 2026?
Yes, according to National Medical Commission (NMC) guidelines, an Indian candidate needs to pass the NEET-UG test to pursue the MBBS program abroad as well as to take the FMGE/NExT licensing test upon returning to India. Failure to pass the NEET test means you won’t get the eligibility certificate nor be able to practice as a medical doctor in India..
Which is the cheapest country for MBBS abroad?
Affordable nations include Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan, with tuition costs between ₹20-35 Lakhs per full course. Other good-value countries include Russia and Egypt. The most "affordable" option varies according to cost, tuition, NMC accreditation, and FMGE passing rates. Our counselors assist you with all these factors.
Are MBBS degrees from abroad valid in India?
Yes, but that’s only if your university is approved by the NMC and also recognized by the WHO. Once you complete your studies, then you have to qualify for the FMGE or the soon-to-be-introduced NExT to be eligible for getting a license to practice medicine in India. Always make sure you check if your university is approved by the NMC before joining..
Do I need IELTS or TOEFL for MBBS abroad?
No. The majority of universities in Russia, Bangladesh, Nepal, Kazakhstan, Egypt, and Uzbekistan that are approved by NMC does not have any requirement of taking IELTS or TOEFL among the Indians because their medium of education is English. This is one of the greatest benefits of pursuing MBBS from overseas. There are some exceptions where the university may require the same..
What is the total cost including living expenses?
However, in terms of popular locations, the total amount which includes the tuition fee and hostel and other living charges throughout the duration of the course lies between ₹25 Lakhs to ₹45 Lakhs. This is just one tenth of what is charged by private medical colleges in India from ₹50 Lakhs to ₹1 Crore..
Can I do my internship in India after MBBS abroad?
The compulsory rotatory internship program may be done either in the same country or in India at an NMC-approved hospital. Most of the students prefer to do the internship after passing the FMGE/NExT exam in India. The internship must adhere to the minimum duration criteria set by the NMC to count for your registration.
How do I verify if a foreign university is NMC-approved?
Please visit the official website of NMC (nmc.org.in) and look for "Foreign Medical Graduates". There you will find the list of recognized universities and latest regulations. It is recommended that you always confirm from the official NMC portal before paying any fee. Aspiring Life only recommends those universities which are 100% NMC approved..
