About Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute
Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute was established in 1972, originally as the Central Asian Pediatric Medical Institute, with the primary mission of addressing the shortage of pediatricians in the Central Asian region and reducing high infant mortality rates. The institute was transferred to the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan in 1988 and subsequently reorganized and renamed the Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute in 1989.
Today, TashPMI comprises 6 specialized faculties, more than 150 clinical and theoretical departments, and a modern 340-bed university hospital, along with partnerships with over 80 medical institutions and research centres across Uzbekistan.
